There are a few ways to go from downtown Houston to Space Centre Houston:
Car/Taxi: Driving or taking a taxi from downtown Houston to Space Centre Houston is the fastest and most convenient option.
The space Centre is roughly 25 miles southeast of Houston's central business district. I-45 South can be used to reach NASA Road 1 from the city Centre. Depending on traffic, the distance is travelled in between 30 and 40 minutes.
Public transit: There are a few ways to travel to Space Centre Houston via Houston's public transit system METRO.
Bus: From a number of sites in downtown Houston, take METRO Bus 249 to the Bay Area Park & Ride, which is near to the space center.
Bus and Light Rail: From downtown Houston to the Southeast Transit Centre, take the METRORail. Transferring to METRO Bus 246 will get you closer to Space Centre Houston from there.
Shuttle Services: A few businesses provide shuttle services just for people who want to visit Space Centre Houston. Popular tourist destinations like downtown Houston or the Houston Museum District are frequent departure points for these buses. For availability and timetables, contact nearby tour companies or transportation providers.
Ridesharing: To go from downtown Houston to Space Centre Houston, use ridesharing services like Uber or Lyft. Simply enter your destination and make a ride request through the app.
Group trips: A few tour operators provide chauffeured group trips that cover travel to and from Space Centre
